Obviously, I went to the beach! The weather has been so mild this winter. Walking along the water's edge on New Year's Eve was so pleasant, I almost forgot it was supposed to be winter.

The best part of driving into the city at night is seeing all the bridges lit up - oh, and the Empire state building, in it's holiday appropriate red, white and green. =)

I went to the Metropolitan Opera for the first time in my life. It was amazing... no, beyond amazing... there really just aren't word to describe the experience. We saw Rigoletto. As with all opera (or most anyway), it was a tradgedy, but a beautiful tradgedy (why is it that sorrow is more beautiful than humor?). The soprano's voice was simply angelic! I've never heard anything quite like it. Magnificent! That's what it was. The whole evening was absolutely magnificent!
