Did You Know That:

Strawberries are not berries, but avacados and eggplant are?

The Cherry Trees in DC are sterile and do not bear fruit? The stamens are replaced by additional petals ("double" flowers).

Sushi is not fish? It is pickled rice. The raw fish, often served with it, is called sashimi.

Bananas that grow in the wild have lots of seeds in them? The ones we buy in the store were domesticated, bred by humans to be seedless. The only way to grow new banana plants (which, by the way, are not trees) is from cuttings of existing plants.

If you are ever asked to name the capitol of Assyria, you should ask, which one? Assyria actually had four different capitols at various points in its history: Calah was first, followed by Dur Sharrukin, then Sargon, and finally Nineveh. By 612 Nineveh was destroyed by the Medes and Babylonians, and the Assyrian Empire came to an end.

Maltese is a semitic langauge (very similar to Arabic) that uses the Latin alphabet?

Well, now you too know all this useless information =) And in the spirit of a dear sarcastic professor, you are all stupider for having taken the time to read this post =P
